The IACBE names Dr. John L. Green, Jr. as President Emeritus.

Lenexa, Kansas, USA (June 2011) – The Board of Directors of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) is pleased to announce that Dr. John L. Green, Jr., founder of the IACBE, has been named President Emeritus of the Assembly.

After faithfully serving a total of eleven years as President of the IACBE, Dr. Green retired on June 30, 2011.

John L. Green, Jr., Ph.D. has served as a tenured full Professor of Management; Vice President for the University of Georgia; Executive Vice President of the University of Miami; and Senior Vice President for the University of Houston System. He was appointed President of Washburn University in 1981 and served in that capacity until 1989.

In 1989, Dr. Green founded the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and served as its Chief Executive Officer for seven years. He founded the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) in 1997 and served as its president for a total of eleven years.

Dr. Green spent most of his life helping others to achieve excellence in business education. Dr. Green’s vision was that small- and medium-sized business schools with teaching-oriented missions should be recognized for their excellence. In founding the ACBSP and the IACBE, Dr. Green made business accreditation possible for hundreds of institutions worldwide that previously had no opportunities for specialized accreditation in business.

Dr. Green holds a Ph.D. in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a master’s degree in Educational Research from Wayne State University, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Mississippi State University. Dr. Green is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in Higher Education, and Who’s Who in the World.
