Academic Business Unit Membership
Any academic business unit (department, division, school, college of business, etc.) whose parent institution grants business degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral level may apply for academic business unit membership in the IACBE. The three categories of Academic Business Unit membership are:
Educational Member:
An educational member of the IACBE is an academic business unit that has met the IACBE’s requirements for educational membership as outlined in the IACBE’s Accreditation Process Manual.
Candidate for Accreditation:
A candidate for accreditation by the IACBE is an academic business unit that has successfully completed the candidacy process as outlined in the IACBE’s Accreditation Process Manual.
Accredited Member:
An accredited member of the IACBE is an academic business unit that has successfully completed the IACBE accreditation review process and has business programs accredited by the IACBE. (Note: The criteria for accreditation are contained in the IACBE’s Self-Study Manual.)
Other Categories of Membership
Individual Member:
Membership may be granted to those individuals who serve as administrators or faculty in institutions of higher education not holding Academic Business Unit membership in the Assembly or who represent other higher education organizations supportive of the mission and goals of the Assembly. Individual members have no vote in the Assembly.
Honorary Member:
Membership may be granted to individuals with superior professional qualifications who are supportive of the mission and goals of the Assembly. Honorary members have no vote in the Assembly.
