What is the accreditation process for international programs, and how does it differ from the accreditation process for US-based programs?
All IACBE institutions follow the same accreditation principles, as described in the IACBE’s Accreditation Manual. However, the accreditation process is different for programs in international institutions without US-based regional accreditation. The regional accrediting associations examine many institutional characteristics; therefore these characteristics must be examined by the IACBE in international institutions without US-based regional accreditation. The IACBE’s Accreditation Process Manual describes the accreditation process for these programs. Such programs must have a preliminary visit to be considered for admission to candidacy. [top]
What is the difference between a preliminary visit and an accreditation site visit?
Programs in international institutions without US-based regional accreditation must submit candidacy materials and have a preliminary visit to be considered for acceptance as a Candidate for Accreditation. The purpose of the preliminary visit is to verify the candidacy materials and to assist the business program in developing and implementing its outcomes assessment plan. [top]
