The John L. Green Award for Excellence in Business Education
The John L. Green Award for Excellence in Business Education honors individuals who have made significant contributions that advance the cause of academic quality in business education in a manner consistent with the IACBE’s "Characteristics of Excellence in Business Education."
The award is named for Dr. John L. Green, Jr., President Emeritus of the IACBE, who spent most of his life helping others to achieve excellence in business education. Dr. Green’s vision was that small- and medium-sized business schools with teaching-oriented missions could be recognized for their excellence. To that end, Dr. Green founded two business accrediting associations: the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) in 1989, and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) in 1997. In doing so, Dr. Green made business accreditation possible for hundreds of institutions worldwide that previously had no opportunities for specialized accreditation in business.
The recipient of the award is chosen based on the following qualifications:
Contribution to Excellence in Business Education
The foremost criterion for this award is that the recipient will have made significant contributions that have advanced the cause of academic quality in business education in a manner consistent with the IACBE’s "Characteristics of Excellence in Business Education."
Member of the IACBE Community
The recipient must be a member of the IACBE community. That is, the recipient must be connected with the IACBE or an academic business unit member of the IACBE. Examples include, but are not limited to, faculty members or administrators of IACBE academic business unit members, governing board or advisory board members at IACBE institutions, public members of IACBE boards, IACBE staff members, or financial contributors to the IACBE.
